Nervous System Regulation:
from Pressure to Presence
You’ve learned how to keep going because the work has required it, and because you care so deeply. But presence is not something you can force from a nervous system that has been living in constant protection.
We'll explore nervous system regulation through the lens of the fawn and freeze response, and learn how to return to yourself with steadiness, compassion, and choice.
You’ll return home with practical tools, renewed connection to your own needs, and 20 continuing education credits to support the life you are building.
Like all MOOXLI retreats, this retreat is held within our community commitment model.
At least 20 participants must register within the first 90 days for the retreat to proceed. We are not in the business of filling rooms. We are in the practice of creating sacred space, and that only happens when the community is strong enough to hold the work.
If you need financial support to attend, consider accepting a fraction of what you have given to others and apply for a MOOXLI scholarship.
Before we ask you to commit, let’s make sure you understand who this retreat is for:
01
You’re tired of saying yes before you have even had time to ask yourself what you need, and you’re ready to stop disappearing in order to keep the peace.
02
You crave space to reconnect with your own needs, voice, and inner knowing, beyond the pressure, the guilt, and the habit of staying agreeable.
03
You want to feel present in your life again, not just composed on the outside while quietly shutting down within.
04
You’re ready to understand the fawn and freeze responses with compassion and learn how nervous system regulation can help you return to steadiness and choice.
05
You’re done living on autopilot, and ready to explore how self trust, and embodied awareness create true resilience.
06
You’re curious how breathwork, yoga, movement, and mindfulness can help your body feel safe enough to return to yourself.
Let us introduce you to the guides who will walk beside you as you remember what it feels like to feel steady in your own body, connected to your own needs, and present in the life you are building.

Sarah Bergakker
“Clinically qualified, but not emotionally equipped,” describes MOOXLI founder Sarah Bergakker, experience starting as an LPN in the emergency department at the age of 19. This theme continued as Sarah completed her bachelor’s in nursing and began work as an ER Trauma nurse, and then became a nurse anesthetist. After almost 20 years in healthcare, Sarah realized that she didn’t know what she was going to do differently but that her practices of perfectionism, numbing, and detaching from her emotional and physical self needed to change. Sarah started this work to discover if there was a way for her to continue to work in healthcare and find joy in her work. She is so thankful to have returned to the original passion of her calling in healthcare. Sarah will be sharing how self compassion and boundaries can effectively change our habits, change our lives, and ultimately support our own resilience.

Joan Mudget
Joan Mudget will guide you through daily movement, breathwork and meditation that supports the mind and body in making the shifts that will happen for you on this retreat. Joan’s background in executive leadership, and her personal experience with burnout and addiction recovery, allow her to guide you through deeper introspection. Joan will help you understand how yoga changed her life and guide you in incorporating these simple practices into your daily routine.
The Setting:
Pack your layers, your hiking shoes, and the part of you that is ready to exhale, because we’re going back to where it all began. Feathered Pipe Ranch is where we held the very first MOOXLI retreat, and Fall 2027 will be our third time returning to this sacred Montana place.
Tucked into the mountains just outside Helena, Feathered Pipe is beloved for its rustic beauty, soulful simplicity, and deep connection to the land. It is a place where the land does some of the teaching. Where you can wake beneath the big Montana sky, walk quiet paths through the trees, gather for meaningful work, and remember what it feels like to let your nervous system soften in a place that was built for presence. A place to bring your wild heart back to one of the wildest places we know.
Lodging at Feathered Pipe Ranch ranges widely in style and price, with options from private to shared accommodations and from Main Lodge rooms to yurts and teepees under the stars.
All lodging options are all inclusive, which means your meals are included in your lodging reservation. Four nights of lodging at Feathered Pipe Ranch are required for this retreat. The ranch provides complimentary shuttle service to and from Helena, Montana, on retreat arrival and departure days.
Once you are registered for the MOOXLI retreat, you will be able to book your lodging through the MOOXLI website. Because Feathered Pipe Ranch requires all retreat participants to stay onsite for the full retreat experience, four nights of lodging are required, and lodging options range from $250 to $450 per night. Choosing your lodging early gives you the widest range of options, from shared to private spaces and from Main Lodge rooms to yurts and teepees under the stars, so you can select the space that feels most supportive for your retreat experience.
Lodging must be booked by April 19, 2027 to hold your place in the retreat. Completing your lodging reservation by this date protects your spot, supports the integrity of the retreat community, and allows us to thoughtfully prepare for our time together at the Ranch. If lodging is not reserved by April 19, 2027, your retreat spot will be released and your tuition payment will remain nonrefundable under MOOXLI’s retreat terms and conditions.
Feathered Pipe Ranch is not able to accommodate early arrivals or extended stays for this retreat, so we encourage you to explore local lodging options if you would like to spend additional time in Montana before or after our time together.
